Things here are going really well! My companion and I stayed together! I was really happy about it because she helps me out a lot in the sister leader stuff. I depend a lot on her. We laugh a lot and I am really happy that we are together. We did have a lot of transfers in our zone and district. I am now going to be doing divisions with different girls, but it is now a little more organized. I should start this next week to do divisions.

One of our roommates finished her mission this week. We stayed up almost all night packing her bags. I am so glad we moved around a lot growing up, because I now know how to pack bags. =)

Our area is starting to have a lot more success. After Anabelas baptism we have found a few new families to teach. Gladis the lady we talked to in the street has 2 teenage girls that we have started teaching. They seem to be progressing pretty well.

Rocio is one of our investigators that we have had for a long time. She wants to get baptized so badly. She came to us and told us she will be baptized this next month. We are working with her ´husband´ so that they can get married. I hope everything goes well. She is from Huanuco and one of her really good friends was in my other ward in Primavera. It was really cool. We baked my cake at her house. It was so much fun. I just love her. Thank you soooo much for the cake. It turned out so good. Everyone here was amazed by how easy it was. They need boxes of cake here in Peru. I forget how easy it is to make food in the states.

In these next few weeks a member of the 70 is going to come to visit us. It is going to be really cool. I am excited for everything that is going to happen here this next transfer. It is going to be a good one!

I feel like a lot of things have happened this week but I can’t really think of more things. I am just trying to work hard, and keep on keeping on. It is really amazing how working hard and being obedient blesses your life in so many ways. Thank you mom for always teaching me to work, and to be good.

Have a great week!

Things this week have been crazy. Some of the sisters that I am over had emergency transfers. So all day Tuesday I did divisions with one of the sisters. They are also looking for an apartment so we spent the whole day walking around looking for places that they can rent. It was kind of stressful because I have no idea how to look for a decent apartment here in Peru. I just put on my ´I know what i am doing´ face and we went to work. haha. Most of the apartments only had shared bathrooms. So we are going to continue looking. Then I was in the Clinic all day with another sister that was having some stomach issues. It was an adventure =) So every min that we had in our area this week we worked really hard to make up for the days that we were not here.

Our investigators are doing really well. One day my companion and I were walking down the street... super super tired. It was hard contacting people because we were so tired haha. But I felt like something important was going to happen that day. We passed by Rocio´s house and her ¨partner¨ was there. We ended up talking to him about everything and we had a really good conversation. We will probably start teaching him as well. They decided that it was best to separate until they can solve their problems and get married. So we will have a Baptism September 20th! I learned that when we are so tired and want to go back and sleep, something awesome will probably happen. We just have to be diligent. We had another family come to church on Sunday! We are excited for them and are trying to help them progress. Gladis is doing fine. The ward is helping her out a lot =)

This week we have our leader meeting, and zone conference. Elder Uceda of the 70 is coming. I am really excited! It should be a really cool experience. The entire sister leaders are going to stay in our apartment... so there will be about 14 girls (and 1 shower. F...U...N... haha) But I am coordinating with the office to get us more blankets and everything for them. I am excited to see all my friends that are in different areas.

My companion and I are doing great. We are really enjoying the time that we are together. I just love her so much. Oh don’t worry there was plenty of frosting for the cake (for my birthday) Rocio´s son didn’t want to have frosting on his part so that’s why I didn’t cover the whole thing.

Well this week here in the mission has been a very eventful and crazy week. Tuesday night the entire sister leaders came to stay in my house. It was crazy but I had everything ready and organized so that they could come and it wasn’t too stressful. That night President told me that I was going to have an interview with Elder Uceda on Thursday. I could not sleep all night I was so nervous haha. Wednesday we were in meetings all day with Elder Uceda from the 70. He is from Lima, served his mission here in Huancayo, and knows how to speak English and Spanish perfectly. Wednesday morning we had leadership training with him and all of the Zone leaders and Sister Leaders. It was really good. He talked about the new era that we are in and the differences that we need to make in our focus as missionaries. It was a really good meeting. Then we had a zone meeting with all of the missionaries in Huancayo and Huancavelica. It was SOOO good. He talked about how we need to be focusing on conversion and not on baptisms. I loved it.  Then at night we had a meeting with all the stakes here in Huancayo. He trained the members about how ward council should go and all that fun important stuff.

Thursday my companion and I went to the office and I had a personal interview with Elder Uceda. He is awesome. We talked about different aspects of the missionary work and the mission. He told me that he could tell I was a missionary that was trying to serve the Lord the best that I could. Of course I cried haha.. But that is normal. I felt honored to be a representative of our mission and the sister missionaries here.

That same day I went to Huancavelica with another sister leader to do divisions. Huancavelica is about 3 hours away from where I live. The roads are really windy and on the side of a mountain. A lot of sisters normally get sick on this trip. But I was just fine =) Huancavelica is a really cute town. It used to be a big mining city, but it now does not have a mine. There are a lot of old ladies that only speak Qechua. It is really cool. Elder Uceda also came to Huancavelica to speak to the branch there.

Friday was my first day working in my area. We didn’t have very good numbers this week but we found a few new families to teach. We are preparing Rocio for baptism and we are working with our recent convert Anabela and her family. We are working hard and we are happy! The night of Breanne’s wedding we had a sleepover in the big room in our apartment. It was fun. We ate food and talked for a long time to celebrate.

I am so grateful for the opportunity that I have to be a missionary here in Peru. I love it. I have learned so many things. I know that it was definitely part of the plan in my life to come here and meet the people I have met. I LOVE PERU!

Well this week has been a crazy one. We got a phone call from our bishop on Tuesday saying that one of our eternal investigators (he has been taking the lessons for about 5 months and has dropped his baptismal date twice) wanted to get baptized this Saturday!!! We were so excited. We planned everything this week and things went pretty smoothly up until the day of.

The baptism was going to be at 7pm. The other ward had a baptism in the morning so we just left the water in the font so that we could use it at night. The elders got there around 6 and found that the heater was broken so there would be cold water. But we were fine with that, it is what normally happens here. But then they called about 10 mins later to tell us that some little kids had put dirt and grass in the baptismal font! We ran over to the church building and started cleaning it out and emptying out the dirty water. I wish I would have taken before and after pictures. haha. Then we started filling the tank up again. But then the water pressure starting going down and THE WATER STOPPED! So we tried to fill up the tank with buckets, but there really wasn’t water in all of the building.  The elders called the zone leaders but they were not really doing anything. So I called the elders in the office and they filled up their font in their chapel. They saved our baptism. haha so we had all the members go to the other chapel. We had quite a bit of members come, and Roberto looked really happy. Hermano Willy brought his cello, so I got to play Oh my father in the baptism. I love that there is a cello here that I can use for baptisms! Anyway it turned out really well. Roberto was really happy.

I feel like I have got to know a lot better the members here. Sometimes it takes a few months to warm up to people. I really do love the ward here. Transfers are in 2 weeks. We are not really sure what will happen, but I hope I can stay here for another transfer. We will see. It kind of freaks me out that I have 3 transfers left in the mission. AHHH!

This week we have started rainy season. It rains all the time. So I get to wear my rain boots all the time =)

So at the start of the week there were emergency transfers. One of the sisters in the other ward was left without a companion so now she is staying with us. I am in a trio!!  She won’t get a companion until transfers. So we will be together for 2 weeks. We are trying to visit two areas... so it has been kind of hard splitting up our time. I did 2 divisions this week as well. So i did not have any time in my area. Sometimes it really stresses me out. But I just have to trust more in my companion to take control of the area. One of the companionships that I am over is looking for an apartment. We have not been able to find one. They live about 30 mins away and I have to go and check up on the apartments they find. We are hoping and praying they find one soon. Everyone has been pretty stressed this week. But this week is a new week. Come what may and love it right? =)

I played the cello in another Baptism! I love that there is a cello here that I can play!

Our ward is doing pretty good. The Young Women’s president is really busy and does not have much time for her calling.. so we decided we will be her counselors and teach on Sundays. It has been pretty fun. I love it. I am trying to cover things in personal progress so that they can pass stuff off on Sundays.

We also made plans with the Relief Society President to go out and visit the people who are not doing their visiting teaching. I am excited. Anyway it has been crazy, but good. I like being busy. This week we have the leadership council meeting. I am excited. I love Consejo because I get to take a break for a day.

I got to listen to parts of the women’s conference.. but not all of it.. and it was in Spanish haha. But what I did here I loved. We will not be listening to General conference next week because it is the elections here... so the week after we will be able to watch it.

It does get kind of cold here.. it is now the rainy season so at any moment it will start to rain and be cold. We don’t have heating in the house.. but we do have a little heater. We mostly just dress warm =)

Anyway I love you soo much! I don’t have much time this week to write... tell the whole family that I love them!!!

te quiero!
