Wow it snowed? What that is crazy. It gets cold here in Huancayo but it never snows. In Cerro de Pasco it snows all the time.. I hope I don’t get sent there haha. In 2 weeks we have cambios it will be interesting to see where I am going.

This week has been a really good one. We have been really busy but we have had a good time. We had some divisions and sister visits. Most of the girls we are over are awesome. They are obedient and love being missionaries. It makes our job easy. I talk to the office people almost every day now that we are over 7 companionships. I think they are sick of talking to me.

This week it was my companion’s birthday. She is now 23. Since we had divisions I had time to plan a little surprise party for her. She had no idea; it was awesome. I also got my package the day before Halloween! THANKYOU! I have loved eating all of the candy. =) I also loved the card it made me laugh so hard. Breanne’s necklace made me cry haha.

We had consejo with all of the leaders on Halloween.  There are a lot of new Hermana Leaders. It was so fun seeing everyone. That night we stayed with President and his wife. We made no-bake cookies and sang to my companion for her birthday. My companion is like my best friend. I love her.

We had a cool experience fasting Saturday. We decided to fast for a few different things. 1. for our investigator Rocio and her husband. 2. To know what we should focus on in our area 3. For the sisters that we are over. Our ward has been struggling a lot. We feel like we have been searching for new investigators but we are just not able to find any. And I think it is the way the Lord is telling us we need to be focusing on the members and help them understand how to be missionaries. We had our correlation meeting and we just felt strongly that our purpose is to strengthen the active members and Less active members. Later that day we had a lesson with Rocio and Jose. We felt like the spirt was teaching and we were able to see their needs. We felt that the Lord was so ready to bless us. We just needed to fast and turn to him to receive his blessings. It was a cool experience this week.

We have more divisions and visits to do these next two weeks. This transfer has just flown by! I am trying to make the best of every day. Oh also in consejo i talked to a sister that served in Primavera. She told me that my converts are doing well.  I almost started crying I was so happy. I am excited to visit them with you!

Love you all to pieces!

November 10,2014

I am  so excited about Christmas. It is crazy because I have no idea where I will be. I have one week left in my area and I will probably be transferred.

Hermana Arayas dad is a pizza maker. So she knows how to make simple pizza dough. So yeah I showed them how to make pizza rolls, braids, and cinnamon rolls =) They love them. Really they hardly ever use their ovens here. It is sad.

I had a sister cut my hair. But only once on the mission and it was not even an inch that she cut off. I just am scared to get my hair cut here because it always turns out bad.

This week has been a very busy one. Tuesday I did divisions with a sister that just started her mission. She is learning Spanish. It reminded me a lot about my training. I tried to help her on language learning tips. I am just so grateful that I had a Latina companion--I learned a lot faster.

Wednesday we did another division. I went with Hermana McReynold, one of the funniest missionaries ever. She reminded me a lot of Karly. We found ourselves laughing a lot. I had to tell them that they needed to move rooms because it was in a weird location. I don’t think they were too happy about it.

I got a blessing the other day from one of the Elders. He talked a lot about turning to the Lord and he can share our burdens. I think I tend to take everything upon my back and forget to turn to the Lord. My prayers have been improving and I feel like they really do make a difference. I have learned that it is something that you really have to work at. And we have seen many little miracles happen these past few days of more dedicated prayer.

Our bishop got  another counselor (we have only had one the whole time I have been here). The guy that we have been reactivating came to church on Sunday. We had a full sacrament meeting. Ward council went really well. Jose (Rocios husband) has been praying. I just feel so happy. After months of being here I feel like a lot of things are falling into place. It is kind of sad to think I will leave right as things are getting better. But it is okay.

Anyway thank you for all of the love and support that you show me. It really helps me and motivates me to keep going.

Con mucho amor,

Things are going so good here. So this has been the last week of the transfer and we have been soo busy. Tuesday and Wednesday morning we went and visited the 6 companionships we are over to see how they are doing. It was nice to see them all. We also had one more division with one of the companionships. It was hard because they were struggling a little bit. But we were able to get things worked out and they seem to be a lot better.  Apart from the sister leader stuff our ward and area is doing sooo much better.

One of the members that we recently reactivated is now our Ward mission leader!!!! I am sooooooooooooo excited. We have been trying to prepare people to be our mission leader the whole time I have been here.

I have also come to be so close to the sisters here in this ward. I feel like some of the members here are like my sisters. Lots of them call us to talk, to discuss their problems and to laugh. I will miss them all dearly. The RS president had a  surprise going away party for me and another Elder that will probably leave. I kind of knew that she was planning it because it was really obvious haha but I acted like I didn’t know what was going on. We ate food; Rocio and her son Andre were there. Lots of the members were there. My convert Anabela was there too. We all talked and then every one of them expressed their thoughts and feelings. I basically cried the whole time. Anabela talked about the miracles that have happened in her life since I have been here with her. (This week she is going to the temple. She was selling chocolate to go... I bought like 10 chocolates from her haha) Hermana Claudia talked about how I was more than a missionary.. I was the sister she never had. Oh mom, I am going to miss these members so much. It made me realize the impact I was able to make in their lives and the impact that they have made in my life. It was really nice of them to think about me. I am so happy for all the changes that have happened in this ward. It is beautiful. Being in an area for 6 months is really hard sometimes. But in the end you are able to see big changes happen.

Rocio and her boyfriend Jose came to church this week. They are progressing slowly but surely. I know that Jose will be a great leader in the church one day. I am going to miss them.

Tomorrow night I will find out about my changes. I am pretty sure I am leaving El Tambo. I have no idea where I will be sent. I have mixed emotions right now. I am excited for a new area and new people. But I am really sad to leave the family I have made here. My companion and I are great friends. We think a lot alike. I am going to miss her so much.

Anyway that is what my week has been like this week. It has been pretty emotional thinking about leaving here. But I have seen miracles. Anabela going to the temple, getting a ward mission leader, 118 people in sacrament meeting (that is a huge miracle), ward council that functions, and much much more. Life is good. The mission is the best.

I am really happy. I am so glad that I decided to serve a mission. I know that it is the best thing that I could have done with my life. I know I am making eternal friends here. I want to keep finding people and make every moment worth it. I cannot believe the time is flying by so fast! I love Peru.

Oh, I also taught a lady in the ward how to make the necklace holder things that you sent me. She made a few and sold them for 10 soles. I also taught a member how to make cinnamon rolls. They were so excited. I love being able to share my talents.

I had a lot of pictures to send.. but the computer is dumb and does not want to upload them. So they will have to wait until next week. I bought my Christmas present for myself. It was a miracle buy. My RS president went and got it for me. At the start it was 250 soles, but she dropped it down to 150 soles =) If I would have asked the lady would have told me that the skirt was like 400 soles because I am a gringa. Mom it is beautiful. I cannot wait to send you a picture.

Things here are going pretty good! We had transfers this week and I got sent to Huánuco again.=) I am so happy because it is a lot warmer weather! But this time I am in a little pueblo 30 minutes out of Huánuco. It is called Ambo. It is beautiful. My companion is Hermana Overly! Another gringa =) we have way too much fun together. She is from Utah and has about a year in the mission. We are in a zone of all elders… we are the only sisters haha. We are over one of the zones in Huanuco were there are about 5 companionships of sisters. We just live pretty far away from them so it will be pretty hard to get everything all figured out. It took me about 7ish hours to get from Huancyo to Huanuco. But the driver was a little crazy at times. But it should take us about 7 to 8 hours when you guys come. I tried paying attention so that I could remember the way there.

It was really hard saying goodbye to the members and the people that I love there in Huancayo. I am just so happy that we will be able to go and visit them. My convert Anabela was the hardest to say goodbye to. She went to the temple this week and wrote me about it =)

My ward here is pretty small. But there are quite a few good leaders. It is a lot easier to get investigators here in Huanuco, but it is hard for them to progress. We are trying to sort through the investigators to see who is ready to progress and not. I love the bishop here. He is awesome. He has been a member for about 16 years. He makes bread for a living. Every day at 6:30 he passes by our apartment and gives us fresh made bread. We live on the second floor so he calls us and throws the bread right up to us. It is awesome. haha we are probably going to splurge and buy peanut butter to put on our bread (penut butter is really expensive here) Anyway the bishop is awesome and is always ready to help us out.

My area is on the side of a mountain so we are always walking up the hill. The people here are always so amazed to see gringas. Everyone we talk to are just so fascinated with our hair and eyes. It makes it easy to contact people. In Huancayo it was a lot different. The people here also have a harder time understanding the things we teach. We have to teach very simply. But I love it and I am excited to help out here. I just have to get use to the area so that I can know where and what I am doing.

I was really sad to leave my companion Hermana Araya. I love her so much. But I know that I will see her at the beginning of every month for our leadership meeting.

I cannot believe that it is thanksgiving! AH that is nuts! Time is just flying by. It is weird to think that I will probably finish here in Ambo. Crazy!!

I am just going to try to work the hardest that I can these last few months!

Love you!!
