I loved the pictures from the Reunion! Everyone looks so cute! Morgan is sooooo big I cannot even believe it. It is still so crazy to me that Breanne will be married and Kjirsten will have another baby. CRAZY! But I am excited for all the fun changes.

I have been doing alright. These past few weeks I have been going on divisions with other sisters and working hard. I got sick again with the cold. My throat was really sore and I had a headache so I wasn’t able to do much in my area this week. In our house (there are 4 sisters here) we have all been sick at least once during these past 6 weeks. I feel like we haven’t been able to get much done. But I just need to have more patience right?

Things with my companion are going good. I have learned that when I am sick I am not a very huggy touchy feely type of person... and my companion is. I have also learned a lot about the different ways I feel loved. It reminded me of the book I read about the 7 different love languages. I am the type of person that through peoples actions and service and by people helping me I feel loved. My companion is the type of person that through hugs and kind words she feels loved. So we had a conversation about that and it went really well. I just don’t feel like giving lots of hugs when I am sick and gross... haha

We have a new investigator named Abel. He is kind of crazy. The sisters from another area got in contact with him one day... he was drunk and pleading for help. They walked him to his house and gave us the reference. J So we talked to him and he is doing great. He likes to sing and he even rapps. He sang to us the first lesson and it was soo hard for me not to laugh. I am pretty sure he is ADHD. But he loves learning more about the gospel and is progressing great! We are going to put goals this week to help him stop drinking.

We are working lots with the less actives here. There is still a lot of work to do. But luckily this week we got a ward mission plan in place. Slowly but surely we are getting it up and running.

This week I have the big meeting with the president and all the zone leaders and sister leaders. I am excited to see all my friends =)

Anyway, things are going great! I love you thank you for all your love and support! Keep me updated about everything!!

I will be getting to do some entertaining. I am in the sister home here in Huancayo so this week I will be taking care of 7 girls coming from other areas to train. It will be fun.

The training meeting was so awesome. It was so fun to see my old zone leaders and my favorite missionaries. It was fun. We stayed at the president’s house and they let us watch pride and prejudice. I loved it. My friend Hermana Paisley is a new sister leader. She is the best. I am happy that I will be able to see her every month. The good thing is that I am here in Huancayo and I only have to travel 15 mins to get to the mission home every month. Blessing!

We had interviews this week with president. He is the best. He told me that we will probably have changes. So this week i will probably get a new companion!! Crazy.

Today I said goodbye to Hermana Vergaray.. I was really sad. She left for her home in Trujillo. She is the best and I will miss her so much. I want to be just like her.

Our area is getting up and running. This week we had a lot more help with the ward. I was happy. Little by little  we are getting where we need to be. I cannot believe that today I finish 11 months in the mission. WHAT! where has the time gone.

Well the internet is kind of acting up. But here are all of the fun pictures for the week. There is this awesome park that we went to where we dressed up. We have to go when you guys come here. Also, I want to buy one of these skirts for my Halloween costume when I get back haha.

I played the cello in sacrament meeting this week. It was beautiful! We played “Oh My Father” and “Nearer My God to Thee”. I think it was the best musical number that anyone had ever seen here =) we even had people recording it... which is totally not church appropriate, but we are in Peru.. =)

I am doing good. I am happy and I am trying to work hard! I cannot imagine my life without the mission. It has changed my life forever. I love being a missionary and being able to help others. Times are not always easy, but it is worth it!

Thank you for all of the love and support. Seriously it helps more that you know! LOVE YOU!!!

Well this week has been a crazy one! Transfers came up and my companion left to go to Cerro de Pasco! I am training again =) My companions name is Hermana Duarte. She is from Paraguay. She has been out for about 6 weeks, so I am just doing the last half of her training. She is super cute and we get along really well. She actually reminds me a lot of Courtney Porter. I love it. She is 20 years old and is a convert. We work hard, and laugh a lot. =) It is fun.

Hermana Sidan is now living in the Tambo house with me =) she is companions with Hermana Fernandez. It was so fun to talk to her about the old area and old investigators. She was training a gringa this past transfer, she told me how she now understood how I felt. I felt like her mom, I was so proud of her. haha Hermana Chire is training! I am so proud of my hermanas that I have trained.

My area is going alright. We are struggling to find new investigators. The investigators that we have are progressing pretty slowly. But I feel like we are doing our best. So I am happy. Lately I have been reading in Alma 17 and I feel like it really explains the life of a missionary.

We have an investigator right now that has been listening to the missionaries for about 4 months. He is on the verge of baptism. But something is holding him back. We planned a family home evening with his neighbor and invited him to come to share his testimony. We hope that it helps him realize that he does have a testimony.

Our ward is picking up the pace a little bit. We starting meeting with the bishop and his counselor for correlation meeting. (because we still do not have a mission leader). They are starting to help out a lot. It is nice. These next few weeks I will start doing divisions. I have four companionships that I am over. Luckily my new companion helps me out a lot.

Thank you for all of your love and support. It means the world!

Wow week 50? That is crazy. I cannot believe the time is going by so fast. This next week will be consejo with all the leaders and we are in the middle of the exchange. AHHHHHH crazy. I have not got the package yet, but I should get it soon. I go to the office about every week for things that the sisters need so I am sure I will get it soon.

Hermana Duarte is from the capital of Paraguay. I am not really sure what the city is called. She had a bit of a rough start on the mission but now we are together and we are happy. I was a little nervous at first to train and be a Hermana Leader, but I like it and I am happy =) She helps me out so much. I hope we can get all of her training in and done well.

Well I think all of those reasons put together are why it is hard to find people to teach. There is more movement here in Huancayo. Everyone works and finding people in their homes is hard. In Huánuco it was so easy to find people at home .The members here are not use to doing much. And as a sister leader I have been leaving about 2 days during the week to do divisions. But this week I had a cool experience. One day after we gave our numbers to the elders I felt tired and frustrated. We had been knocking on doors all week and we only found about 2 people that were willing to listen to us. We had to drop a few other investigators because they didn’t really have the desires. So I was a little stressed, and with the next few weeks I will be gone about 2 days during each week for divisions. I prayed really hard and went to bed. The next morning in my studies I read a scripture in the bible that says that our ways are not the Lords ways, and our thoughts are not the Lords thoughts. I felt like I was working hard but maybe the way I was going about things was not the way the Lord wanted me to. I then started reading parts of the book that dad sent me. I realized the Lord wants us to really work hard with the members. We have been visiting members but we need to do more to help them fulfill their responsibilities as member-missionaries. After I felt good and I was able to regain the energy that I needed to keep going on. Sometimes it is hard in the mission because we think that we know what an area needs because of the experiences that we have had in other areas. But every area is different and needs something different that we have not done before.

We also decided to fast this past week for one of our investigators that needs to talk to her husband about getting married. We started the fast but during the whole time we were fasting we were thinking about a different investigator. Our studies ended up being all about him. We studied a lot of different things that didn’t seem like would go together for a lesson, but in everything we studied we thought of him. We were a little confused but followed the thoughts that we had. We had a lesson with him and we were able to answer all of the doubts that he had. I felt like we were really guided by the spirit to talk about different things. In the end he was very surprised and didn’t really know what to say to us. We explained about our experience with fasting and told him that the Lord wants him to follow him. It was a really cool experience.

Any way, things are going good. We are working hard and trying to find the Lords way of doing things. =)

Also, I organized the whole house... the other sisters thought it was funny. I am such a mom sometimes. haha But I talked with Hermana Henderson about all of my organizing plans and she told me that she felt like she found a kindred spirit =)

The house that we live in has 2 bedrooms, one bathroom inside, and one outside. It has an area for a kitchen but we don’t have the appliances. It also has a study room and a huge room that can fit about 5 bunk beds. This house is for when people come from other parts of the mission for exchanges and stuff. It is probably the biggest sister house in the whole mission. But compared to the houses in the states, it is tiny haha.

Anyway my time is up. I love you so much! Thank you for all of your love and support! YOU ARE THE BEST"!!

Love,,
